Home » Bitumen 60/70 supplier in UAE
Bitumen 60/70 is a widely used penetration grade bitumen supplied and exported from the UAE, particularly Dubai, for road construction, asphalt paving, waterproofing, and industrial applications. Produced mainly from vacuum bottom through continuous, batch, or blended processes, its quality and performance depend on production method, consistency, and compliance with international standards such as TFOT.
Premium continuous-production Bitumen 60/70 offers superior aging resistance and durability, making it ideal for high-traffic roads and hot climates like the Middle East. Available in drums, jumbo bags, polycubes, and bulk shipments from Jebel Ali Port, UAE Bitumen 60/70 remains a cost-effective and reliable solution for global infrastructure projects.
The highest quality UAE Bitumen 60/70 is produced from vacuum bottom (VB) using a continuous heating and air-blowing system. This closed-loop technology guarantees minimal production loss, uniform penetration and softening point, superior homogeneity and stability, full compliance with TFOT (Thin Film Oven Test), and excellent resistance to aging and oxidation. Only continuous production can reliably pass TFOT, which is mandatory for long-lasting asphalt pavements.
Typical applications include 80% road construction and asphalt mixing and 20% waterproofing, construction chemicals, and industrial use.
This grade is also produced from vacuum bottom but via batch processing, where each batch is heated, processed, discharged, and restarted. Limitations include lower consistency between batches, not suitable for precision-critical projects, and failure to pass TFOT, which limits aging resistance. This grade is recommended for budget-sensitive projects and low-traffic or secondary roads.
This quality is manufactured by blending two or three soft, medium, or hard bitumen grades to reach the 60/70 penetration range. It has higher wax content, higher viscosity, and lower consistency and stability. It is not recommended for high-quality asphalt roads and is commonly used in low-grade waterproofing, non-structural applications, and price-driven markets.
Steel drum packing includes 110 drums per 20ft container with 185 kg net and 195 kg gross per drum. Alternative drum sizes include 120 kg, 145 kg, and 150 kg.
Jumbo bag packing ranges from 800 to 1200 kg per bag, suitable for both 20ft and 40ft containers, forklift-friendly, and reduces packaging waste.
The 300 kg polycube is the best and most economical option for export markets. It allows 80 polycubes per 20ft container, totaling 24 metric tons per container, with zero bitumen loss during melting and the lowest transport cost per ton.
Truck tanker delivery using dual-layer tankers keeps bitumen liquid for up to 7 days without reheating. If the product cools, built-in heating coils with flame injection are used to re-melt the bitumen. This option is ideal for regional and neighboring countries but not economical for long-distance export.
Bulk vessel supply is the most cost-effective solution and can be arranged using our own vessels or customer-nominated vessels. Capacity ranges from a minimum of 1,000 tons up to 36,000 tons. Bulk supply is ideal for buyers with storage tanks at destination ports. Without storage tanks, multiple truck tankers are usually arranged.
To issue a quotation and contract, please provide the required quantity, grade such as 60/70, 80/100, VG30, or VG40, packing type including drum, jumbo bag, polycube, or bulk, destination port, and preferred payment terms. Accepted payment methods include LC, TT, and CAD.
Our supply capacity includes 1,000 tons per day in containers using drums or jumbo bags, 1,000 tons per day via truck tankers, and 3,000 tons per day through bulk vessel pumping. Annual export capacity reaches 500,000 tons of bituminous products. The minimum order quantity is one 20ft container, approximately 20 tons.
We provide a free 1 kg Bitumen 60/70 sample for laboratory testing. Courier charges are paid by the buyer and fully refunded after order confirmation.
Bitumen 60/70 pricing is directly linked to fuel oil prices. On average, bitumen is approximately two-thirds of the fuel oil price, plus refinery margin and logistics costs. The cheapest origins are typically high-supply regions competing with Iraq bitumen and Bahrain, while the most expensive origin is Shell due to premium quality, global contracts, and dedicated vessels. Other origins we supply include Turkey, Turkmenistan, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Greece, Italy, Egypt, UAE, Korea, Oman, Azerbaijan, and Kazakhstan. Most shipments are loaded from Jebel Ali Port in Dubai. Price validity is usually 48 hours due to market volatility.
We have more than 15 years of experience exporting bitumen to over 110 countries, strong international banking and credit facilities, guaranteed quality consistency regardless of quantity, a professional multilingual sales team, flexible payment terms, and expertise in container, tanker, bulk vessel, and rail logistics. Our global offices are located in Dubai, Ankara, Beijing, Hong Kong, Montreal, Manila, and Kuala Lumpur. We are active members of Argus Asphalt, international bitumen export syndicates, and Middle East oil and asphalt exhibitions. Bitumen is a technical product, and not everything black is bitumen, so buying from verified exporters is essential.

Bitumen 60/70 is a penetration-grade paving bitumen widely used in road construction. The number 60/70 refers to its penetration range (in 0.1 mm), meaning the hardness of the bitumen. It is the most commonly used grade for asphalt pavements.
The penetration value indicates how deep a standard needle penetrates the bitumen sample at controlled conditions.
60–70 (0.1 mm) penetration = medium-hard bitumen
Ideal for hot climates and high traffic roads
Bitumen 60/70 is used for:
Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA) production
Highway and expressway surfacing
Runways and taxiways
Binder and wearing courses
Asphalt concrete production
General road maintenance and patching
Because it offers the best balance of:
Hardness vs. flexibility
Excellent durability
Good temperature resistance
Strong adhesion to aggregates
Suitable performance in tropical and moderate climates
It is derived from straight-run vacuum bottom of crude oil and refined to meet penetration-grade specifications under ASTM or EN standards.
Typical values:
Penetration: 60–70 dmm
Softening point: 48–56°C
Ductility: ≥ 100 cm
Specific gravity: ~1.01
Flash point: ≥ 230°C
Bitumen 60/70 is available in:
New steel drums (185–200 kg net)
Jumbo bags (1 ton)
Bulk bitumen (bitutainers or tankers)
Poly bags / carton blocks (upon request)
Yes. Its hardness makes it highly suitable for hot and tropical regions, preventing rutting, bleeding, and deformation under traffic load.
It can be used, but in extremely cold climates a softer grade (80/100 or 100/120) is preferred to avoid cracking.
It meets:
ASTM D946 (penetration-grade bitumen)
AASHTO M20
EN 12591 (Paving Bitumen)
Quality is verified by SGS, Intertek, or local refinery QC labs.
60/70 is harder → used in hot climates and heavy traffic roads
80/100 is softer → used in colder climates or lighter traffic areas
At 135°C, viscosity typically ranges between 300–500 cSt depending on refinery origin.
Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. If in drums, stack safely and avoid corrosion through moisture.
